The Polish People's Party (PSL), led by Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, and the Polish Ministry of Agriculture are opposing the EU-Mercosur agreement due to concerns that it could threaten Polish farmers and consumers. The Ministry of Agriculture believes that the agreement could displace Polish and European producers in favor of suppliers from Mercosur countries, as most products from these countries do not meet EU standards. The European Commission, however, believes that the agreement will bring benefits to the EU. The final proposal for the agreement has not been presented to the EU Member States for acceptance.
