KPDNHEP monitors the price of goods during the TBC festive season in Sarawak, Malaysia

KUCHING: A total of 176 enforcement officers and 101 price monitoring officers of the Sarawak Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) will be at public locations in the state. KPDNHEP Chief Enforcement Officer, Mogan Arumugam said it was in public markets, farmers' markets and supermarkets to carry out inspections and monitoring including during the Chinese New Year Maximum Price Scheme (SHMMP). "These measures reflect the ongoing efforts to protect consumers from excessive profit-taking activities by unscrupulous traders during the festive season." Therefore, to ensure the needs of the public are not affected KPDNHEP Sarawak has taken initiatives and proactive action by monitoring and inspection of the supply position of essential goods.
