Kyrgyzstan is set to partially restart fish exports to Russia in the coming week, as stated by Askarbek Dzhanybekov, the country's Minister of Agriculture. This decision follows a suspension due to concerns over the safety of Kyrgyzstani fish products, with reports of exceeding permissible limits of harmful substances, including antibiotics. The resolution involves allowing only farms that meet all necessary standards to resume exports. A special Russian commission was sent to assess nine Kyrgyzstan fishing companies, with the main concern being the issue of fish being mislabeled. This situation arose after a series of incidents where fish from Kyrgyzstan was found to have signs of being misdeclared, leading to questions about its origin and compliance with Russian standards.
