In the first five months of 2024, Kyrgyzstan significantly increased its rice imports from Pakistan, bringing in 1,100 tons at a cost of nearly $470,000. This represents a threefold increase compared to the same timeframe in the previous year, when 369 tons of rice worth $131,000 were imported. The average price per ton of Pakistani rice during this period rose to $422, a notable increase from $356 per ton last year.
