Corn harvesting in Ukraine this year started later and is occurring with a delay due to prolonged rains, reports "ProAgro Group".
The slow pace of the harvest and the resulting limited supply of grain have caused an unprecedentedly low volume of its export in September. According to Spike Brokers, last month only 60 thousand tons of corn were shipped abroad, compared to 348 thousand tons in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, amid the expected increase in supply, most buyers have started to gradually reduce demand prices. At the end of the week, corn was trading in the range of $205-207 per ton for delivery in October-November to the seaports.
