Last week, the sunflower market in Ukraine saw mixed trends, with a predominant downward trend. Factories reported a fairly active inflow of raw materials from farmers, which contributed to a decent accumulation of stocks, reports APK-Inform. As a result, demand prices for oil "sagged" and mostly remained within the range of 28,800-29,200 UAH/t SRT. Additionally, on the export market for sunflower oil, there was a price correction due to a decrease in demand, which also put pressure on prices. However, some companies reported that for large volumes and oil content above the base, they were still willing to increase prices - in individual cases, purchase prices reached 30,000-30,500 UAH/t SRT. Sunflower processing in January remained weak overall due to constant missile and drone attacks on port infrastructure and due to a shortage of electricity. As a consequence, there is a reduction in supply and export deliveries of both oil and meal.
