Provisional Measure 1,312/2025, which originated the law, was published in September 2025 and has been in effect since then. The resources are intended for the prevention and control of agricultural emergencies, such as the one caused by avian influenza, which led to the declaration of a zoosanitary emergency state throughout the national territory last year. The extraordinary credit is also aimed at combating the carambola fly, cocoa moniliasis, and cassava witch's broom pests.
