An agricultural project in Beijing has found a way to keep greenhouses productive during the hot summer months by planting water spinach and amaranth hydroponically. This strategy, now in its second year, allows for regular harvests and extends the growing season. The Beijing Agricultural Technology Extension Station provides technical support, including disinfection, temperature and humidity control, and nutrient solution preparation. This approach not only increases production but also reduces equipment degradation by keeping the greenhouses in use throughout the year.
