During the session on Tuesday, the 14th, the Chamber of Deputies of the Nation debated the project promoted by legislator Atilio Benedetti, which stipulates standardizing good agricultural practices and suggests minimum precautionary distances of just 10 meters for terrestrial applications of agrochemicals. The new regulatory scheme introduces a series of measures that aim to organize and make the applications of phytosanitary products in the territory safer. As a notable milestone, sensitive, exclusion, and buffer zones are defined, where applications are directly prohibited: urban areas, schools, health centers, water bodies, and protected areas. Outside those limits, mandatory minimum distances are set: 10 meters for terrestrial or drone applications, and 45 meters for aerial applications.
