Tahiti lemon will be the only citrus fruit from Peru that would close its positive shipments this year

And although there were prospects for the trend in sales to continue rising in 2022, the downward projections had to be corrected for eight of the nine types of citrus exported by Peru. Thus, the Tahiti lemon is the only one that has maintained a good rate of shipments -between January and May it registered a growth of 82% compared to the same period of 2021- and reached price peaks between April and last May, assured Fernando Molina, a exporter of fresh lemon from Piura, the region that concentrates the largest production areas in Peru. According to what he said, the kilo of Tahiti lemon reached S/ 4 in the national market; however, it has fallen to S/ 2.80 due to the entry of citrus fruits from Brazil and Colombia.
