In the cattle business there are cycles, there are variables that go up and down and there are decisions that can be postponed. But today, in a market where cattle are quoted at historically very high values, there is one aspect that no longer allows for delay: 360-degree efficiency in the production of calves. The firmness of the price of this category and of cattle for slaughter has reconfigured the productive map of Argentine cattle farming. With less available supply and sustained internal and external demand, each weaned calf at 200 kilos is equivalent to one million pesos, a historically high value in constant currency and in dollars.
