CERATH, a Liberian non-governmental development agency, has initiated a four-year cassava transformation project called CASTRAP. The project aims to enhance the competitiveness and regional integration of the Liberian cassava sector through a value chain approach that includes sustainable cultivation, value addition, entrepreneurship, and marketing in sustainable markets. Cassava is the second most important food crop in Liberia after rice and provides the population with over 25% of their daily calorie intake. The project is being implemented in collaboration with other organizations.
