On August 27 and 28, the community of Antay, in the province of Cajatambo, Lima region, will be the setting for the V Festival for the National Alpaca Day. During the two days of the event, attendees will be able to enjoy various activities such as the judging of alpacas, as well as the sale of typical gastronomy and local crafts.
At the official launch, the regional director of Agriculture of Lima, Ing. José Mendoza Suyo, invited authorities, the press, and the general public to join this great celebration that enhances our Andean heritage.
Regional councilors of Cajatambo, Susana Solórzano Mugruza and Tomás Chavarría Húngaro, also participated in the event, supporting this important initiative.

Currently, Peru concentrates 87% of the world's alpaca population, with more than 3.6 million specimens, of which more than 70,000 inhabit the Lima region.
