The article reports on the varying live hog prices across different regions in Vietnam, with the highest prices in Hanoi, Hung Yen and Thai Nguyen at 49,000 VND/kg, and the lowest in Yen Bai and Lao Cai provinces at below 46,000 VND/kg. Prices in the Central - Central Highlands regions fluctuate between 47,000 and 51,000 VND/kg, while in the South, prices range from 49,000 to 52,000 VND/kg. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, led by Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien, is working with the Dong Nai Livestock Association to address challenges and promote sustainable development in the industry. The article also highlights the difficulties faced by farmers, such as lower product prices than production costs, difficulties in accessing loans, and high input costs. To improve competitiveness, the Deputy Minister suggests investment in production, adoption of new technology, and environmental management.
