The article reports a significant increase in the slaughter of cattle, hogs, and chickens in Brazil during the 3rd quarter of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021 and the previous quarter. Cattle slaughter saw an 11.9% increase, pigs by 5.0%, and chickens by 0.9%. The quarter recorded the highest pigs slaughter results in its historical series, which began in 1997. Additionally, the quarter also witnessed a decrease in milk acquisition by 1.7% compared to the 3rd quarter of 2021 but an 11.1% increase from the previous quarter. Leather purchases by tanneries also increased by 6.7% from the 3rd quarter of 2021. Furthermore, chicken egg production reached a new high, surpassing 1 billion dozen for the fifth time since 1987.
