Farmers in Faridpur's Sadarpur upazila, known for cultivating the Lalmi variety of muskmelons popular during Ramadan, are facing significant challenges due to untimely rains. These weather conditions have destroyed seeds and fertilizers, leading to a lower yield and necessitating replanting, which in turn has increased production costs. Despite the high demand for these muskmelons at the start of Ramadan, prices have dropped significantly, leaving farmers concerned about their ability to recover cultivation costs. The adverse weather has affected cultivation on 350 hectares, impacting the profitability and outcomes for the farmers.
