Data from the Plant Protection Bureau of Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development shows that Vietnam's lychee production will exceed 300,000 tons in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 30%. Among this, early-ripening lychees (from May 20 to June 15) will account for approximately 60,600 tons, while main-season lychees (from June 10 to July 20) will reach around 104,350 tons.
90% of Vietnam's lychee exports go to China, and since early June, Bac Giang Province has exported about 4,000 tons of early-ripening lychees to China within half a month. A representative from Bac Giang Province's Department of Industry and Trade stated that this year's lychee quality is the best in 5 years, with large fruit, red skin, and long preservation period, with purchase prices ranging between 20,000-35,000 Vietnamese dong/kg (5.5-9.6 yuan/kg).
This year, Bac Giang Province's total lychee production is approximately 165,000 tons, with an estimated 70,000 tons to be exported to China. Other major production areas include Ha Yang Province with 60,000 tons, Hung An Province with 22,000 tons, Lang Son Province with 22,000 tons, and Dak Lak Province with 21,000 tons. Currently, Vietnam has 469 cultivation areas and packaging plants with export codes, with 240 cultivation areas and 37 packaging plants concentrated in Bac Giang Province.
To ensure fresh lychee exports, starting June 1, the Lang Son border gate has increased customs clearance time by 2 hours daily, with 120-140 lychee trucks passing through each day. In addition to road transport, some enterprises export lychees to China via railway and direct sea routes to Nanning Port/Shenzhen Port.
While Vietnam exports large quantities of lychees to China, seedless lychees from Hainan Province are selling for 1.1-1.8 million dong/box (2 kg) in Hanoi, equivalent to approximately
