In May 2024, Peruvian pineapple exports surged to 705 tons worth $1.96 million, reflecting a 152% increase in volume and a 55% rise in value from the previous year, despite a 39% drop in average price to $2.78 per kilogram. The number of main markets decreased from six to five, with the United States dominating at a 91% share, followed by Chile at 5% and Israel at 2%. The US market experienced a 149% increase in volume and a 51% increase in value. Chile's imports soared by 438% in volume and 437% in value, while Israel's imports grew by 30% in volume and 26% in value. The top Peruvian pineapple exporters were Procesadora Laran S.A.C. (51%), Gandules Inc. S.A.C. (14%), Greenbox S.A.C. (12%), AgrÍcola Los Médanos S.A. (11%), and Agroindustria JAS E.I.R.L. (4%).
