Malaysia has a sufficient supply of palm oil to meet the demand of the US and EU, according to Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin. The renewed demand for palm oil is due to a shortage of other edible oils caused by the Ukraine-Russia war. A special committee will expedite the approval of the recruitment of 500,000 foreign workers in various sectors, including plantations. Zuraida will promote Malaysian agro commodities, including palm oil, rubber, and timber, in Egypt and Qatar.
