Malaysia is increasing its efforts to boost demand for palm oil and rubber by engaging with Egyptian and Qatari agricultural players. The Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC) is proposing several initiatives, including including Malaysian palm oil in the Egyptian Food Subsidy Scheme. The MPIC anticipates a 4.9% increase in crude palm oil production this year. To increase exports of Malaysian commodities, especially palm oil, the MPIC Minister conducted an Economic and Agricommodities Promotion Mission to Egypt and Qatar, encouraging Qatari investors to collaborate with Malaysian manufacturers.
