Malaysia is planning to expand its palm oil exports into the Middle East and African markets by establishing new export hubs in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, as part of a strategy to penetrate emerging markets. The country's Ministry of Commodities and Plantation Industries and the Malaysian Palm Oil Council are leading the initiative, aiming to capitalize on the rise in re-exports of the oil from these markets. As the world's second-largest exporter of palm oil, Malaysia's top importers are India, China, and the Philippines.
