Malaysia's palm oil has found a new market in Estonia, the Czech Republic, and Hungary, with significant imports from January to July 2022. The country's Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister, Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin, welcomes this development, highlighting it as a response to marketing efforts and Western propaganda. Despite the conflict in Ukraine disrupting sunflower and rapeseed oil supplies, this is just the beginning, with long-term goals set for expanding in the European Union and other non-traditional export markets. The positive feedback received underscores the quality and versatility of Malaysian palm oil, with its high productivity and availability throughout the year, finding use in both food and non-food sectors.
