Bangladesh is set to have a great mango season as 2,05,034 hectares of land will be dedicated to mango cultivation, with a production goal of 27 lakh tonnes. The country also plans to export around 5,000 tonnes of mangoes to 39 countries, including China, which Bangladesh has an MoU with. The mango variety 'Fazlee' is highly regarded in Bangladesh, among other superior grafted and local varieties. Mango production in Bangladesh has seen fluctuations, but overall increase, and mango export volumes have also varied. Mango harvest in Bangladesh is expected to start from May 5 and will primarily occur in 15 districts.
