Mango production generates more than 47 thousand jobs and has been exported to 18 countries: Sader

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Sader) indicated that the mango production chain generates approximately 23,453 permanent jobs and 24,253 temporary jobs, as well as 1.5 million wages per year that work in the activities of the crop, from the nursery until harvest. From January to May 2020, the group of guavas, mangoes and mangosteens was the thirteenth crop with the highest sales abroad with a value of 150 million dollars, of which mango contributed 95 million dollars with a volume of 82.1 thousand of tons. In a statement, Sader indicated that Mexico ranks sixth in the world in production, with 2.18 million tons, that is, 3.9 percent of world production is contributed. It should be noted that the largest producers are India, China, Thailand, Indonesia and Pakistan.
