The North American Seafood Fair 2023 in Boston saw participation from hundreds of global seafood enterprises, including 17 from Vietnam. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic's impact, Vietnamese businesses aim to promote their products and reconnect with the North American market. The US remains a significant market for Vietnamese seafood, with exports reaching a record $2.1 billion in 2022, or 20% of the country's total seafood exports. The fair provided businesses with direct access to suppliers and expanded partner networks, with a focus on food safety and competition. The relationship between Vietnam and the US in agriculture, forestry, and fishery is considered stable and mutually beneficial, with trade turnover reaching $10 billion.
