Inspection identified mixtures with vegetable oils in products sold as extra virgin olive oil

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) has issued an alert to consumers regarding the marketing and consumption of fraudulent olive oils. The products were inspected by the Department of Inspection of Plant Products of the Agricultural Defense Secretariat (Dipov). According to the agency, they do not meet the identity and quality standards established by the legislation. The samples collected by the department were analyzed by the Federal Laboratories of Agricultural Defense (LFDA) which confirmed the presence of other types of vegetable oils in the composition, which characterizes fraud.
