The government is considering a ban on the export of grain from Russia. The Ministry of Agriculture has been instructed to conduct monthly monitoring of their stock balances. If they drop to a critical level, the department must send a proposal to the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Industry and Trade for a temporary ban on the export of such crops. According to experts, the measures may be temporary - as a tool to contain prices. Izvestia looked into how much grain Russia exported to foreign markets this year and whether the harvest would be enough for the population within the country.
