Netherlands: Leek prices increased to around 30 cents

In the first two weeks of April, the price for grade 3-4 FLMW at REO Veiling fluctuates around 15 cents per kilo. Since April 18, the price has been between 20 and 24 cents. The leek boom at REO Veiling now seems to have subsided. In the first week of April, the total supply of loose leeks amounted to about 1,266 tons and in the second week it was about 1,077 tons. Last week the supply amounted to around 650 tons and this week the supply is about the same level. The (significantly) decreasing supply has therefore led to a slight price increase. Increasing trend At ZON fruit & vegetables, the price on April 4 was at the 'peak' of 44 cents, on April 7 it was 13 cents. After that, there is a rising price trend that reached 33 cents on April 28. At The Greenery, the 'peak price' was 33 cents on April 4, followed by a declining price trend to 7 cents on April 14.
