Despite the challenges of 2020, Colombia's meat sector has seen significant growth. Live animal exports have surpassed previous years' figures, reaching over 175 million dollars along with meat sales. Beef exports, in particular, have increased by 50% from last year, with Russia and Lebanon being the leading destinations. Additionally, live cattle sales are also on the rise, with Iraq as the primary recipient. Analysts predict that Colombia will hit record numbers with around 30,000 tons of meat exported and over 200,000 bovines sold if the current trend continues.
