In the second week of October 2024, Poland experienced a mixed trend in livestock and meat prices. Live pig purchase prices decreased by 2% week-on-week and 13.5% year-on-year, resulting in lower pork half-carcasses selling prices. Conversely, live cattle purchase prices increased, leading to a rise in beef sales prices. Poultry livestock purchase prices also fluctuated, with increases in turkey and fattened goose prices but a decrease in broiler chicken prices. Finally, the sales prices of poultry meat saw adjustments, with gutted chicken carcasses becoming cheaper and turkey carcasses experiencing minor fluctuations, while both experiencing year-on-year price increases.
