Meat market in Poland (15/09/2024)

In mid-September 2024, Poland experienced a 2% increase in live pig prices compared to the previous week and month, though prices were 13% lower than the same period in 2023. The EU average price for class E slaughter pigs was lower than Poland's, with Spain offering slightly higher prices, while Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands offered less. Pork prices rose alongside live pig prices, and live cattle prices increased by 3% from the previous year. Beef sales prices saw a marginal rise compared to the previous week and year. In the poultry market, broiler chicken prices rose slightly, turkey prices increased by 1% from the previous week and were significantly higher than the previous year, but broiler duck and geese prices were notably lower than the previous year. Poultry meat sales prices showed mixed trends, with chicken carcasses cheaper than the previous week but more expensive than a month ago, while turkey carcasses were slightly more expensive than the previous week but cheaper than a month ago.
