Meat production in Ukraine exceeded 2.5 million tons

This is reported by the Association of Milk Producers with reference to the data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy. It is noted that about 63% of meat in Ukraine during the analyzed period was produced in farms of all categories in the following areas: Thus, in January - October 2024, the largest increase in meat production was observed at agricultural enterprises in Zakarpattia (+33%), Volyn (+25%), Rivne (+18%) and Zhytomyr (+17%) regions. At the same time, the association noted that in October 2024, the volume of cattle slaughter amounted to 51.3 thousand. t (-5% until September, but +5% until October 2023). 27% of beef from the total volume of slaughter was produced at enterprises, and 73% was produced at households. In January - October 2024, the volume of cattle slaughter in farms of all categories amounted to 311.5 thousand. t, which almost corresponds to the indicators of last year's period (+0.2%).
