Turkey: Medical mint production proposal

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry recommended those who want to invest in new and profitable areas in the agricultural sector to grow medicinal mint. The Ministry has prepared a feasibility report and investor guide on the production of medical mint for those who want to operate in this field. With the expansion of the medicinal and aromatic plants sector, it is aimed to use the resources sustainably and to transform the production into products with high added value. It is aimed to consider agricultural production as an input in the development of agricultural industries and to use surplus food in sectors such as cosmetics and energy. Exports and imports of essential oil, which can be obtained from medicinal plants, increased greatly and became one of the most developing product groups in the agricultural sector.
