Peru: MEF approved reference prices for the import of corn, sugar, rice and milk

The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) of Peru has set the reference prices and additional variable duties for imports of corn, sugar, rice, and whole milk powder. The resolution, published in the official newspaper El Peruano, details the reference price and additional variable duty for each product. Corn has a reference price of $192. per metric ton (MT) and no additional variable duty, while sugar has a reference price of 601 dollars per MT and a negative additional variable duty of -7 dollars per MT. Rice has a reference price of 732 dollars per MT, with a negative additional variable duty of -35 dollars for paddy rice and -50 dollars for milled rice. Lastly, whole milk powder has a reference price of $3,325 per MT and an additional variable duty payment of $297.
