Brazilian melon exports take off at the start of the 2023/24 harvest

Brazilian melon exports from the 2023/24 harvest began at an accelerated pace in August, which resulted in a noticeable increase in shipments when compared to the same month last year. According to data released by the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), the volume exported was around 5.91 thousand tons in August, an amount 454% higher than in the same month last year. The United Kingdom was the main destination in August, purchasing 48% of the total exported, and the Netherlands in second place, with 41%.
