Mendoza, Argentina: Registration to export fresh plums, pomegranates and blueberries to Brazil

Buenos Aires - From today until August 31, registration in the Integrated System of Measures for Risk Mitigation (SMR) is open for producers, packers and exporters from Mendoza who wish to export their pomegranate, plum and/or fresh blueberries to Brazil, informed the National Service of Health and Food Quality (Senasa) According to the National Program for the Prevention and Eradication of the Lobesia botrana plague (PNPyE Lb), the SMR is an opportunity for those who comply with the established phytosanitary requirements to opt not to apply methyl bromide prior to the export of the fruit. In this sense, producers, packaging and refrigerators that wish to export to Brazil must register the productive establishment with Senasa, inform the varieties to be sent, carry out the phytosanitary management of the pest on their farm and guarantee the traceability of the fruit in all stages of production until discharge.
