The industry of cane sugar in Mexico reported a surplus balance and a new sales record from 2018 to 2022, with exports amounting to $609 million and imports totaling $4 million. The United States is the main destination for Mexican sugar exports, followed by Morocco and Canada. Mexico has increased its sugar export destinations from seven to 17 since 2021. Veracruz is the leading sugar producer in the country, followed by Jalisco and San Luis Potosí.
