Milk market in Germany: Prices at the GDT are falling

Prices for contract-bound butter packets rose even further from their already high level. At both ends of the range, prices rose by 5 cents to 6.25 to 6.75 euros/kg. On the world market, however, prices fell significantly. At the auction on Tuesday (July 2) on the international trading platform Global Dairy Trade (GDT), the average butter price for all delivery contracts fell to the equivalent of 6,092 euros/t, which is 11.2% less than two weeks previously. The whole milk powder quotation was only raised by 2 cents at the lower end of the range, and is now 3.85 to 3.91 euros/kg. On the GDT, however, the price fell to 2,995 euros/t, which is 5.5% less than at the auction on June 18. The quotation for skimmed milk powder has recently fallen. Both food and feed grades are ...
