The European Union is experiencing a significant increase in dairy product prices, with raw milk prices rising by 1.8% in July and by 20% in the first seven months of 2022. The highest and lowest raw milk prices were recorded in Belgium and Portugal, respectively. There has also been a decreasing trend in milk production in the EU, leading to higher prices for cheese, butter, and oil. The price of energy resources and cattle herd reduction are expected to further impact dairy product prices. In contrast, Ukraine has seen a lesser increase in raw milk prices, but there has been a growth in the prices of ready-made dairy products, while world prices for dairy products have decreased by 2.5% and the import of dairy products has decreased by 33%.
