In France, the price for conventional milk surpassed that of milk with a protected origin for the first time in January. The price for conventional milk rose by 22.9% in February compared to the previous year, while the average price for all milk flows increased by 21.4%. The share of organic milk increased to 5.2% of total collection, and the share of milk with protected origin was 16.9%. Regional prices and production levels varied, and while milk collection fell in France, it rose by an average of 1% in Europe. France's production of packaged cream, butter, and packaged milk, as well as soft cheeses, continued to grow year on year in February.
