Campeche, Mexico has seen a significant increase in meat production, with the industry now valued at 25 billion pesos. In 2019, the region produced over 51.6 thousand tons of meat, 4.8 thousand tons of eggs, and 42.8 million liters of milk. The state government and SADER invested 12.6 million pesos to promote livestock units, and an additional 4.6 million pesos to support over 3,000 producers. Other investments included molasses delivery, forage, and technological transfer actions. In 2019, the program Increase in the Productivity of the Bovine Herd trained and provided services to 480 producers. Additionally, the Mexican Hairless Pig Rescue program delivered 11 stallions and 46 bellies to 11 productive groups, mainly women. As of May 2020, the livestock inventory in Campeche included 804 thousand 425 head of cattle, 508 thousand 177 sheep, 4 thousand 699 pigs, 10 thousand 807 goats, and 2 million 722 thousand 073 birds.
