Minas Gerais: Agribusiness Exports Hit Record in First Four Months

Minas Gerais reached a new record in agribusiness exports during the first four months of 2025. According to a survey by the State Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Seapa), the sector accounted for 46.8% of the state's total exports, with revenue of US$ 6.5 billion and 5 million tons shipped. The performance represents the best result ever recorded for the period since the beginning of the historical series in 1997. Compared to the same period in 2024, there was a 26% growth in revenue, even with a 6.2% retraction in export volume. The advance in billing was driven by an average 34% appreciation in the price per ton of Minas Gerais agricultural commodities. Seapa estimates that, maintaining current price trends and seasonal behavior, the state should close the year with agricultural exports between US$ 19.5 billion and US$ 20.5 billion.
