Chile's exports and imports experienced significant growth in February 2021, with exports increasing by 24.8% and imports by 33.9% compared to the same month in 2020. The total commercial exchange for the first two months of 2021 showed a positive variation of 14.3%, reaching USD 23,972 million. Mining products, especially copper, played a key role in this growth. However, there was a decrease in imports of avocados, urchins, olive oil, mollusks, plums, and grapes. The economic reactivation of China, the United States, and the European Union, along with the vaccination process, have contributed to this trend.
