Egypt's Minister of Agriculture, Alaa Farouk, highlighted the country's resilience in providing food security during crises like the Corona pandemic, the Russian-Ukrainian war, and climate change. The government's efforts include investing in agricultural development and creating triple treatment plants for agricultural drainage water for irrigation. Additionally, the ministry is encouraging the development of new, high-productivity, low-water requirement varieties of crops and expanding contractual farming agreements. The Minister also emphasized the support for farmers and small agricultural producers through easy financing initiatives, in line with digital transformation and logistical and marketing system development for agricultural products.
