[Korean Farmers and Fishermen Newspaper Reporter Jin-woo Lee] On the morning of the 9th, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Song Mi-ryeong visited Woncheon Village in Geumgok-ri, Gyeseong-myeon, Hongseong County, Chungnam, to inspect the biogas power generation facility utilizing pig manure and the village power plant (ground-mounted solar power). At the site, she held discussions with local residents and experts to listen to their concerns. The Woncheon Village, which Minister Song visited, has been voluntarily striving to become an "energy self-reliant village" since 2014 by the villagers. Following the installation of a 430 kWh-scale biogas power generation facility in 2021, residents plan to form a cooperative and establish a 495 kWh-scale facility by 2025.
