REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) ensures the supply and distribution of day-old chicks (DOC) across all regions of Indonesia is safe and controlled, and there are no monopolistic practices in the national poultry supply chain. “We ensure there is no monopoly in the supply of DOC. All business actors, whether large companies, cooperatives, or smallholder farmers, receive equal opportunities and access,” said Director General of Livestock and Animal Health of Kementan, Agung Suganda, in a statement in Jakarta, Wednesday (29/10/2025). He emphasized that the government, together with business actors and poultry associations, is strengthening coordination to keep the national poultry supply chain smooth and to support smallholder farmers.
