The Ministry of Agriculture in Indonesia is encouraging the modern germination of Stevia plants in Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province. The Ministry is looking to build synergy with academia, business actors, and government at all levels to develop this commodity. They are also grateful for the support from banking institutions in financing the development of the Stevia plant. The Ministry is emphasizing the importance of sustainable partnerships with smallholders and has regulations in place for the private sector to provide 20% of their produce to the community. PT Bejana Kasih Sempurna has successfully cultivated two tons of Stevia plants, which have been exported to South Korea.
