The Minister of Agriculture in Indonesia, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, is promoting the development of local food commodities, including cassava, as a response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Ministry is planning to distribute 11,175 hectares of cassava cultivation across several provinces in 2020, with a budget of Rp 12.8 billion. The government is also encouraging local farmers to increase cassava productivity and is partnering with the cassava industry. The Ministry of Agriculture is also urging local cassava food production to be demand-driven and is encouraging partnerships with the Indonesian Cassava Community.
