From September 17 to 24, 2021, state plant quarantine inspectors in Kazakhstan identified 76 violations in the import of regulated products, resulting in the seizure of 595.4 tons of produce and 82.5 m 3 of lumber from Russia, Korea, Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan. The violations, including missing phytosanitary certificates, labeling, and failure to undergo secondary inspection, led to administrative responsibility and fines totaling 4.2 million tenge. Since the year's start, over 4,000 violations have been reported, accumulating over 308 million tenge in fines.
