The Ministry of Agriculture in Indonesia is planning to develop 2,358 horticultural villages across the country for the 2022 Fiscal Year. These villages are expected to house 320 Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) involved in the processing of chilies, onions, fruits, vegetables, and medicinal plants. The government will provide an assistance package, including infrastructure and operational support, to help these MSMEs grow. The Ministry's plans have been applauded by members of the Commission IV of the DPR RI for their potential to enhance the agricultural sector and improve the economic condition of housewives through the Sustainable Food Garden program.
